Alejandro Jodorowsky is an unusual filmmaker in the eccentricity and absurdity of his work. He grounds his ideas in spiritual symbology and iconography, yet interweaves plotlines of loss, political conflict, genocide and societal taboos. Though being a figure shrouded in controversy, I find myself fixated on his 1973 film "The Holy Mountain", showing plotlines of pilgrimage, extortion, and spirituality.
